Reminder about Christmas Dinner, Christmas Jumper day and other festive events on Thursday 10th December!

07 December 2020

Dear parents and carers,

Reminder about Christmas Dinner, Christmas Jumper day and other festive events on Thursday 10th December!

On Thursday 10th December we have planned lots of festive events for our pupils to enjoy. It will be our Christmas Dinner day on Thursday 10th December and pupils are encouraged to wear a Christmas jumper, festive colours or Christmas accessories (e.g. Santa hat). Pupils will not be required to wear their school uniform. Please book your child's Christmas dinner via ParentPay.

Mrs Taylor has spoken to the main man himself and Santa is hoping to fly into school for a short (socially distanced visit) to greet the boys and girls of Portstewart Primary School and Nursery Unit!

On Thursday 10th December the whole school will also go on a virtual trip to the panto to see 'Beauty and the Beast'. Southern Regional College students are putting on an online 'Beauty and the Beast' Panto! It is going to be so much fun!

Parents and carers are also welcome to join in and watch online with our school at the same time. The 'Beauty and the Beast' panto will be shown on Thursday 10th December at 10am. Be prepared to be dazzled, entertained and enjoy a morning of laughter & festive fun! The show will be 90 minutes long and will be premiered on YouTube using the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCagRtbkgzqn1oe7vigQYtsA/videos

Each class will also participate in a 'Santa Dash' on Thursday 10th December around our school grounds in their class bubbles. So if your child has a Santa hat or reindeer antlers they are very welcome to wear them for our whole school 'Santa Dash'. It is definitely going to be a busy day full of lots of fun!

Winter Wonderland outdoor Christmas Tree festival in school (Monday 14th December - Wednesday 16th December)

Our PTA has been working hard to turn our school outdoor grounds and school polytunnel into a Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree festival for our pupils to enjoy. We have created an outdoor Christmas Tree festival and each class has decorated their own special Christmas tree.

Within the Christmas polytunnel there are hidden QR codes that you can scan using your mobile phone and it will display a short video all about the different parts of the Christmas story.

Friends and family of Portstewart Primary School are invited to visit our wonderful outdoor Christmas decorations on Monday 14th December to Wednesday 16th December from 4pm to 6pm, please book your tickets online using the link below. We would love for you to come and see our school all lit up with beautiful outdoor lights and visit our magical Christmas polytunnel filled with Christmas trees decorated by our school. This free event is a gift to our school community, we only ask that you maintain social distancing and consider giving a donation to our school PTA through using the bucket provided.

If you would like to attend please book your free ticket using the Eventbrite link below:

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Taylor
