Kids Online Cook Along by ESRC Festival of Social Science

30 October 2020

Are you interested in an online cooking class for your kids with a focus on fun, food and different cooking skills?

We thought that some of our pupils in Portstewart Primary School might be interested in taking part on an online cooking class at home with their family. Read the information below and register your child by clicking on the link. There is no charge to register.

Are looking for a fun activity to entertain the kids? How about getting their hands dirty and making a meal together, for the chance to WIN a cooking party for 12 children at Forestside cookery school (worth £360) and lots of other prizes!

Chef Stephen Jeffers, who runs the Forestside Cookery School and works closely with social scientists at Queen’s University Belfast, will lead children through an online cooking class with a focus on fun, food and different cooking skills. Spend an afternoon together with your child cooking up a scrumptious meal.

Recommended child age: 8 – 12 years

To take part in this event, please register at the link below and you will be sent an email with the link to the cooking video and two short quizzes just before the start date.

To enter the competition to win the prizes, including the children’s cooking party for 12 children:

1) the child must complete the short quiz 1 before taking part in the class,

2) Complete quiz 2 after finishing the cooking class and upload a picture of the food/cooking process at the end of the survey.

*Please note, the child’s face DOES NOT need to be included in the picture to be considered a valid entry.

Sounds like lots of fun!

Take care,

Mrs Taylor
