'Wellbeing Wednesday' on Wednesday 10th February!

08 February 2021

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you are all well and are keeping safe.

We are delighted that we have high levels of our children engaging in remote learning. However, as you all know this can bring stresses and strains to families as we all wrestle with technology, social isolation for children and juggling working from home and home schooling.

We realise that, at times, remote learning can put families under strain and although the learning is very important, we also recognise the need to look after our mental health and wellbeing. I have huge admiration for all parents supporting their child’s learning at home! And so, we’re going to propose something to look forward to and release a little pressure. Something we hope will bring us together and make us all smile. This Wednesday we are planning to have a 'Wellbeing Wednesday'.

What is 'Wellbeing Wednesday'?

  • A change from the current curriculum demands and a focus on your child's mental health and wellbeing.
  • An opportunity for children of all ages and parents to do something fresh and different.
  • A chance to connect with each other and have fun.
  • A day to choose the activities you would like to do together.
  • A chance to be creative, get outside and have less screen time.

Your child will receive one Seesaw task on 'Wellbeing Wednesday' that has 6 tasks inside it which all focus on mental health and wellbeing, plus other optional tasks. We would encourage all of our children to take pictures and videos of all that they get up to on 'Wellbeing Wednesday' and upload it to their Seesaw journal for us to see.

If your child is currently attending school, please don’t worry – your child will not miss out on the fun and will participate in the activities in school. If you are in a routine on Seesaw now, and would prefer to stick to that, please feel free to use the day to catch up on any work from your child’s work pack or complete any Seesaw tasks that your child has missed.

We look forward to seeing all of your child's pictures and videos on our 'Wednesday Wednesday'! Thank you all, once again, for your support and hard work, your partnership is very much appreciated. Stay safe and take care.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Taylor
