Christmas Fun Day & Joint Carol Service

17 December 2018

A Christmas Fun Day, organised by our PTA, will be held on Tuesday 18th December. Children are invited to dress up by wearing Christmas sweaters, hats, antlers, t-shirts etc. Please do not feel you have to buy a special item of Christmas clothing as children should be encouraged to wear clothes they already have or simply decorate a jumper or hair with tinsel, baubles etc. A donation of £1.00 for school funds in respect of the non-uniform day would be appreciated.

There will also be two feature length film sessions. The first, “The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about Christmas,” aimed at our Nursery – P3 children, will be shown in the assembly hall during the morning of 18th December. The second, “The Grinch,” for P4 – P7 pupils will be screened in the afternoon. Before the films our PTA members will man the tuck shop selling:

drinks 50p each

bags of popcorn £1.00 each

tub of candy floss £1.50 each

We hope our “film and dress up day” will be enjoyable for all children.

Joint Carol Service

The service, featuring the P4 – P7 children of Portstewart and St. Colum’s Primary Schools will be held in Agherton Parish Church on Thursday 20th December, commencing at 11.00 a.m. Parents, grandparents and other relatives are welcome to attend.

Christmas Holidays

School will close for the Christmas holiday at 12.00 noon on Friday 21st December. Please note that our school kitchen will not operate on the last day of term and therefore meals and mid-morning snacks will not be available. Spring term will commence on Monday 7thJanuary, 2019.

On behalf of the governors and staff may I wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas.
