Dogs in School Grounds

We recognise that dogs are an important part of family life for many in the school community and as such are often included in day-to-day activities such as walking children to and from school. However, for others the presence of dogs in the playground or around doors at the start or end of the school day may be a stressful, even frightening experience, particularly for younger children. Please remember that even well behaved dogs can behave unpredictably when placed in a busy, noisy environment.

We do, of course, acknowledge and appreciate that some parents, when walking their dogs, do stay outside the school grounds. However, may we seek everyone’s co-operation in not bringing dogs into the school grounds. Should you walk your dog may I suggest that you remain outside the playground or use the public footpath on Queenora Avenue. Please do not use the walkway within school grounds which leads to the Queenora entrance.

Thank you.
