Donations towards our Elfridges sale and P6 book stall, non-uniform day and Odd Socks Day!

13 November 2021

Dear parents/carers,

Elfridges donations wanted!

Our PTA are organising an 'Elfridges' event on Thursday 9th December for all of our pupils.

The basic idea is that parents/carers donate small gift items that you may have around your house already (e.g. a candle, a diary, handcream, some sweets or a notebook etc). These could be unwanted gifts that you have received or items that you no longer need. The children bring in donations of small gift items and the PTA will sort through and organise the items into a stall. The children then come along to our 'Elfridges' stall on Thursday 9th December and choose and purchase a small present and then we help them wrap and decorate a gift bag! The idea is to instil the idea in our children  that Christmas is also about giving to others. Our children will love the idea of choosing a present and for a family member or parent and keeping it a surprise for them to open at Christmas time. Any money collected through the Elfridges sale will be used by our PTA to purchase additional items for our children's learning and development. Please send in all donations of small gift items by Friday 12th November.

P6 book donations wanted and non-uniform day on Friday 19th November in aid of Children in Need

Mrs Baillie's Primary 6 class are keen to fundraise for Children in Need. Our pupils know that our main school improvement focus is on reading this year. Primary 6 have approached myself with ideas to fundraise. We have therefore decided that our P6 pupils will hold a second hand book sale starting on Monday 15th November and Tuesday 16th November in our school assembly hall from 8.30am - 9.00am to raise money for Children in Need. On Friday 19th November we will have a non-uniform day in aid of Children in Need (donation of £1). Please send in all donations of second hand books by Friday 12th November.

Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 16th November

Anti-Bullying week will be held in our school from Monday 15th November to Friday 19th November. We have lots of activities and lessons planned for our pupils to take part in to raise awareness of bullying. On Tuesday 16th November we will celebrating Anti-Bullying Week by having an 'Odd Socks Day'. Pupils are encouraged to wear their school uniform but also wear some odd socks! Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage our pupils to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique. Pupils do not need to make any donation just simply wear a pair of odd socks!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Taylor
