Junior Summer Scheme!
Our Junior Summer scheme has got off to a great start and our pupils have enjoyed gardening in our school polytunnel, messy play around our safari theme, bug hunts in our school grounds, outdoor play, games, picnics outside and most importantly seeing all of their friends. This week we have lots more planned including multi skills sports sessions, an African drumming workshop and a trip to the park.
On Monday 26th July we intend to take our Junior Summer Scheme on tour and take all of the pupils to Portstewart Strand beach (the small beach beside Harry's Shack). If your child is registered please return the permission note or pick up a permission note from one of the leaders. Your child should bring with them a hat, a towel, a packed lunch, water, suncream and a bucket and spade (if they own them). We plan to have some games on the beach and time to build sandcastles and dig in the sand. We also plan to allow the children to paddle in the water (paddle rather than swim as we have around 70 children with us...so no swimming costumes are required but there is a chance that the children may get a little wet so a towel would be beneficial).
If your child is registered for the Junior Summer Scheme on Monday 26th July please meet us in Portstewart Golf Club car park at 9.15am to drop off your child(ren). Please note that Portstewart Golf Club are kindly letting us use their carpark for drop off arrangements due to the high volume of cars around Portstewart Strand and the limited turning space at Harry's Shack for parents. Please don't park up and stay in Portstewart Golf Club on Monday 26th July just use it to drop off your child with us. We intend to have lots of fun on the beach and then walk back to school, so you can expect some tired children that day. Pick up on Monday 26th July will be from school at 2pm as normal.
It is great to see our pupils having so much fun and we hope they will enjoy the rest of the Junior Summer Scheme.
