Primary 1 note regarding fine motor skills

Primary 1 note

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child is settling very well into school. During the next 2 weeks in P1, we are concentrating on fine motor skills and will be incorporating a programme called "Jungle Journey." Fine motor skills require using the small muscles in the fingers, hands and forearms. It is very important for your child to have good fine motor skills for pencil and scissor control.

Below is a list of some fine motor skill activities you can do at home with your child:

Play dough

Tying laces

Using clothes pegs to hang the washing up

Threading beads onto a string

Painting

Cutting paper into smaller pieces

Many other activities may be found online eg.

I hope your child enjoys these activities,
