World Kindness Day and Odd Socks Day!

10 November 2020

Dear parents/carers,

World Kindness Day on Friday 13th November!

As World Kindness Day falls on Friday 13th November 2020, our school has registered to become a Northern Ireland Hospice and Children's Hospice 'Kindness Ambassador'.

By taking part in the ‘Kindness Counts’ campaign, our school will be exploring the values of kindness and compassion. We are asking our pupils to wear colourful clothing on our non-uniform day on Friday 13th November and donate £1 to the Northern Ireland Hospice. Our theme in school is 'Colour the World with Kindness'. Our school will therefore be raising vital funds to support local families. I know that some of our families actively support the Northern Ireland Hospice and some of our parents have shared with us how the Northern Ireland Hospice have supported them as a family. We are therefore keen to be involved and be an ambassador of the charity on World Kindness Day this year.

Odd Socks Day on Friday 20th November!

Anti-Bullying week will be held in our school from Monday 16th November to Friday 20th November. We have lots of activities and lessons planned for our pupils to take part in to raise awareness of bullying. On Friday 20th November we will finish celebrating Anti-Bullying Week by having an 'Odd Socks Day' on Friday 20th November. Pupils are encouraged to wear their school uniform but also wear some odd socks! Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage our pupils to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique. Pupils do not need to make any donation just simply wear a pair of odd socks!

Macmillan Cancer Support

Our school staff held a socially distanced coffee morning during their tea break at the start of November and I am pleased to announce that we have raised a fantastic £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Taylor
