P4/5 travelled to Mountsandel Forest today where they met Petra and Liz from the Forest Service who led them on their tour. The children became hunters and gatherers, sampling blackberries and nettle seeds along the way, splashed in the River Bann and looked to see what they could forage and use to build a home. We managed to stay dry and enjoy our packed lunches on Mountsandel fort. Plenty of “wows” throughout with a few saying it was the “best trip ever.” We loved our outdoor classroom 🌟 🌳
