Dear parent/guardian in Primary 5,
P5 will be going swimming to Coleraine Leisure Centre each Wednesday and will travel by bus. Pupils will be taught by a swimming instructor. Swimming will start on Wednesday 21st September 2022 and will finish on Wednesday 14th December 2022.
Please note that there will be no swimming on Wednesday 2nd November due to school half term holidays. There will also be no swimming on Wednesday 16th November. In total there will be 11 weeks of swimming.
The cost of the admission and the hire of the bus is £2.40 per pupil per week. To save parents/carers bringing the correct change each week we are encouraging parents to pay a lump sum or in instalments via ParentPay. The cost of the whole swimming term is £26.40. Pupils alternatively can bring in £26.40 in a sealed envelope to cover the payment of the swimming for the term.
Pupils should bring with them a swimming costume/trunks, and towel. Swimming goggles are recommended but are not essential. Those with long hair may find it beneficial to wear a swimming cap. Please note that aerosols and hairdryers are not permitted to be brought to swimming lessons by Coleraine Leisure Centre. The vending machines are also not in use for pupils whilst attending the Leisure Centre.
