APPOINTMENT!
I am pleased to inform you that Mrs K Taylor is the newly appointed principal of Portstewart Primary School. Mrs Taylor, who is currently the Vice-Principal of Moneymore Primary School, will take up her post on 4th November, 2019.
Until Mrs Taylor arrives in Portstewart, Mrs Smyth will assume the role of principal which means, of course, that Mrs Smyth will not be involved in class teaching until November. Therefore, reorganisation of some classes has been required.
Back to School
School will resume on Friday 30th August when children will be allowed to go home at 12.00 noon. Break time snacks and school dinner will not be available on the first day of term.
Farewell
Although I will remain in post until 31st August I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your good wishes for my forthcoming retirement. My connection with Portstewart is based on strong family ties and so being principal of this school has been a very special part of my career. Therefore, in closing allow me to wish the school continued and prolonged success and you and your children health and happiness for the future.
